»image transfer« ist eine Abwandlung des legendären Polaroid-Trennbildverfahrens aus den 60er Jahren. Da vom Originalmaterial, das seit Jahren nicht mehr produziert wird, nur noch kleine Restbestände existieren wird mittlerweile mit »impossible«-Sofortbildern experimentiert, die in der alten Polaroid-Fabrik in Enschede (Holland) produziert werden. Im Digital-Zeitalter reinster Anachronismus, und doch eine Novität in der Kunstwelt, auf halber Strecke zwischen Photographie und Malerei.
»image transfer« is a kind of Polaroid-peeling apart colour print film-technique from the 60s. The original material is out of production for years now, but experiments go on with the new »impossible«-instant-films. In the age of digital photography this technique may stand for pure anachronism, too, but in its outward appearance it turned out as noveltry in the world of arts: the »missing link« between photography and painting.
